Q. How old do you have to be to use the Senior Center?
A. Participation in most programs is available to all adults 50 or older. We are also a multigenerational Center and often welcome other ages to our special programs and our meals.
Q. Are there fees for the programs?
A. Most services are offered at no cost; however some programs, such as yoga and individual computer lessons do have a fee of $5. There is a suggested $4 donation for the noon meal, however we have a generous donor at this time who has made it possible for donations to be $1 for seniors who are 60+ or are serving as an aide to a senior who is 60+. Special trips and meals also have a fee associated with them that varies.
Q. How much does lunch at the Center cost?
A. The noon meal has a suggested donation of $4.00, however at this time we have a generous donor who has made it possible for donations to be $1 for seniors who are 60+ or are serving as an aide to a senior who is 60+. All others have a fee of $4 for a meal. To see a menu click here.
Q. Do you have special lunches?
A: Every Thursday we feature Fresh Chef, a special lunch prepared onsite by Chef Willie Baracchi. Meals range from Stuffed Peppers to Shrimp Linguine. We buy all the ingredients fresh and try to use local product whenever possible. Fresh Chef meals range in price, but are usually $2-3.
Q. What time is lunch served?
A. Lunch is served at 12 noon.
Q. How do I sign up for lunch?
A. Call the Center at 658-3585 or stop by before noon on the day prior to when you would like to come in for lunch.
Q. Do you have to live in Burlington?
A. No you do not. Anyone is welcome to come and join us.
